Who’s In Charge?

This week we will look at the life of Gideon as found in the book of Judges.

Gideon went from obscure farmer to mighty warrior, so the people wanted to make him their king. But Gideon responded, “I will not rule over you, not will my son. The Lord will rule over you!”

Gideon was careful to give God the credit for his success. When things go well, we are tempted to say, “Look what we’ve done.” Just as Gideon understood his talents and abilities came from God, so we, too, can use what God gives us to make a difference in our world. Are we willing to be like Gideon and allow God to do great things through us?
