The Sword of the Spirit

This week we will conclude the sermon series on “The Full Armor of God” by looking at the Sword of the Spirit (Ephesians 6:10-17).

The purpose of the Sword of the Spirit — the Bible — is to make us strong, so we can stand firm against the evils of Satan. The more we know and understand the Word of God, the more useful we will be in doing the will of God and the more effective we will be in standing against the enemy of our souls. But we need to pick it up, folks. A Bible on the shelf  is an ornament, not a weapon.

See you in church!

Songs we’re singing this week:

8:00 a.m. — “Thy Word is a Lamp” and “Wonderful Words of Life”

10:30 a.m. — “Raise a Hallelujah”, “Build My Life” and “Ancient Words”
