This week we will be moving along in our study of Acts. Take some time this week to read Acts 5:12-42.
There is an incredible joy that comes from standing with Jesus even if it means to stand with Him during persecution. That kind of joy comes from Christ and not from our circumstances; it comes from our faithfulness and not our comfort. The early church leaders knew what it meant to face the world and say, “Throw at me what you will! As long as I’m with Jesus, it doesn’t matter!”
Paul wrote in Romans 8:18, “I do not think that our present sufferings are worth comparing with the glory that shall be revealed in us.” Or as the Message version puts it, “I don’t think there’s any comparison between the present hard times and the coming good times.” Let those coming good times in eternity give you perspective for today’s hard times!
Songs we’re singing this week: “Open Up the Heavens”, “Come to the Water”, “Blessed Assurance”, and “My Hope Is Built”.
