Power to Change

I’m excited to start a new sermon series this week on the book of Acts.  This may take us through the summer!  I hope you will dig in along with me as we look at the exciting times of the early church.  This week we will start with Acts 1:1-11.

When God began to build the church in the days after Christ’s ascension, He didn’t do it with programs or classes or formulas.  The believers saw growth because they depended on the Holy Spirit to lead and direct them.  We also must be open to the Spirit’s guidance as we are firmly anchored in the truth of the gospel and the foundations of faith.  The health of our church, the strength of the Kingdom and each of our personal relationships with God won’t flourish unless we are plugged into the power of the Holy Spirit.

I’m looking forward to walking through Acts with you, my Emanuel family!

Songs we’re singing this week:

8:00 a.m. — “This Is My Father’s Word” and “Blessed Assurance”

10:30 a.m. — “Days of Elijah”, “This I Believe” and “Glorious Day”
