Matthew 7 – Watch Your Tongue

This Sunday, October 18th, we will be digging into one verse!  I know what you’re thinking — maybe this will be a short sermon!  We’ll see….

Matthew 7:1 says, “Do not judge, or you too will be judged.”  That’s it.  Nine little words, but they pack a punch.

Before we had kids, Dinah and I would watch other parents in restaurants try to manage their babies and toddlers.  We said we would never let our future children behave like those out-of-control little ones at the next table.  Then, we had four of our own messy kids with shrill screams and impolite table manners.

It’s easy to jump to conclusions and put others down when we don’t know their whole story.  Too many times a harsh word or unkind criticism follows a judgmental thought.  Get ready to be challenged this week to watch your tongue.

Songs we’re singing this week:

8:00 a.m. Christ For the World We Sing, O How I Love Jesus

10:30 a.m. Let the Praises Ring, Your Name is Greatly to be Praised
