Lying Lips

This week we will look at Colossians 3:9, “Do not lie to each other, since you have taken off your old self with its practices.”

In our series “What Not to Wear”, Paul gives us another ragged and shabby garment to cast out of our wardrobe — lying lips. As believers, we are new people and the Holy Spirit now resides in us. “For if anyone is in Christ he becomes a new person altogether—the past is finished and gone, everything has become fresh and new.” (2 Cor. 5:17) Honesty replaces lies, truthfulness takes the place of deception, accuracy forces out exaggeration. Just as you wouldn’t wear a dirty, threadbare outfit to church, that old self and its worn out rags need to go!

See you in church!
