Joy in the City

This week we will be looking at Acts 8:1-25. As the church came under persecution in Jerusalem, Christians began to scatter, taking the gospel wherever they went. Philip was a faithful disciple who didn’t throw in the towel when things got tough. Instead, he looked at it as an opportunity to take a step of faith and move on. God used Philip to bring the message of salvation to the Samaritans.

Can you trust God, even in times of trial and testing? The writer of Hebrews said, “But we are not of those who shrink back and are destroyed, but of those who believe and are saved.” (Hebrews 10:39)  Let’s learn to be like the early disciples, who didn’t shrink back, but allowed God use them to fulfill His purposes.

See you in church!

Songs we’re singing this week: “Light Shine In”, “Whom Shall I Fear?”, “Great Is Thy Faithfulness” and ” “Take Time to be Holy”
