This week we will look at the Old Testament prophet Samuel, who was in leadership when the Israelites asked for a king. Samuel saw the rise and fall of Saul and then went on to anoint David as King.
Samuel’s role was to instruct these men to follow God’s ways, which was why it was so hard on him to see Saul turn away and fail as a leader. Samuel’s words to Saul were strong and maybe even a bit harsh, but they came from a heart of love. Samuel knew Saul’s potential would never be reached as long as he put his own desires before God’s. David was different – he was a man after God’s own heart. Are you a Saul or a David?
See you in church!
