For All People

This Sunday is RALLY DAY at Emanuel!! We will be back to two services (8:00 a.m. and 10:30 a.m.).  After the 10:30 service please stay and share in the turkey potluck! I will be grilling 12 turkeys (with some help). Sunday school begins at 9:15 a.m. with classes for all ages. Come and worship! Come and eat! Come and enjoy fellowship with God and your church family!

This week at Emanuel we will be continuing our study of the book of Acts. I hope you take a few minutes this week to read Acts 9:32-10:48.

Many people have grown up believing that they must try really hard to be good enough to get to Heaven. They’ve spent their lives hoping they would “pass” on the final day. Here is where the message of grace comes in. Grace ushers in a whole new way of thinking. Grace can’t be earned — grace is a gift. At first, it may sound too easy or it may feel like grace cheapens the gospel. But it doesn’t in the least bit. In fact, grace highlights the beauty of the gospel. The free gift of grace requires a change in thinking and change never comes easy. But it is absolutely necessary.

See you on Sunday!

Songs we’re singing this week:

8:00 a.m. — “Take My Life and Let It Be” and “Come, Thou Fount of Every Blessing”

10:30 a.m. — “Let It Rise”, “This Is Amazing Grace” and “Fire”
