This Sunday’s message will be based on Acts 11:19-30. These twelve verses contain the phrase “great numbers of people” three times. Read the passage this week and see what “great numbers of people” are doing!
The church in Antioch was the first place believers were called Christians. It was a church full of authentic believers who let Christ influence everything they did. Their trust was in Christ and Christ alone, putting no confidence in their own goodness and ability. It’s no surprise that Barnabas was instrumental in the growth of that group of people. And Saul was right by his side, learning how to do ministry and beginning to teach.
My prayer is that Emanuel will continue to be a church like the Antioch church in Acts 11, where great numbers of people turn to the Lord.
