On this first Sunday in 2018, we will continue to celebrate the Lord’s coming by looking at Simeon in Luke 2:21-35. Simeon lived his life as if “this could be the day”. He gives us a great picture of how we should now be living as we await the second coming of Jesus.
We will also gather at the Lord’s table to remember that the baby who came that night in Bethlehem fulfilled the purposes of His Father to redeem all people. As magnificent as His birth was, it was only the beginning.
Songs we’re singing this week:
8:00 a.m. — “Hark! the Herald Angels Sing” and “The First Noel”
10:30 a.m. — “Let the Praises Ring”, “Nothing But the Blood” and “A Christmas Alleluia”
