This Sunday we will turn to the Gospel of Luke and travel back to the events that led up to Jesus’ birth in Bethlehem. The challenge for all of us this time of year is to enter into the familiar story with fresh eyes and experience the wonder of God’s coming to earth. Our planet was visited by God in the flesh. We must never allow anything to blind us to the deep significance of that truth.
Sometime this week, take time to read Luke 1:5-25. Prepare your hearts, prepare Him room.
Songs we’re singing this week:
8:00 — “Come, Thou Long Expected Jesus” and “It Came Upon the Midnight Clear”
10:30 — “My Soul Magnifies the Lord”, “The First Noel” and “Emanuel”
