This week we will continue our Lent series, “Abide With Me” by looking at John 16:5-15.
Have you been watching the Olympics this week? The ice dancing performances have been so beautiful. Can you imagine those same performances without the music playing? The technical aspects would have been amazing, but the emotional “heart” would have been lacking.
Max Lucado captures that thought in his book, “A Gentle Thunder”. “We Christians are prone to follow the book while ignoring the music. We master the doctrine, outline the chapters, memorize dispensations, debate the rules, and stiffly step down the dance floor of life with no music in our hearts. Dancing with no music is tough stuff. Jesus knew that. For that reason, on the night before His death He introduced the disciples to the song maker of the Trinity, the Holy Spirit.”
Do you hear the music?
See you in church!
